TNL's GotM: January 2008

Embarrassment of a month last month. NeoGeo Battle Coliseum doesn't deserve to win any month. This month at least contains a few titles that would not bring shame to the title of TNL GotM.

My vote goes to PixelJunk Monsters. I expect the majority of the vote will go toward Burnout, which is a perfectly respectable choice, but Monsters really hooked me.

Advance Wars DOR, The best DS game out right now.

Rez HD is a close second for being such a great experience.

I love Rez and all, but is there really enough new stuff in the XBLA version to qualify?

I can't vote because I didn't play any of these games which means I didn't buy any of this January shit. +1 for me. I'll write-in a vote GGXX AC to keep the soul burning.

It was a choice between Rez, NMH and Burnout, and I had to give it to No More Heroes. Burnout's relatively small but to me, glaring faults actually keeps me from enjoying it fully.

It's amazing that something as simple as a lack of helpful route navigation and having to drive back to challenge locations can kill your interest in a game.

No More Heroes takes a close second.

Rez is a straight port and absolutely not a noteworthy remake. It entirely fits under "Retro XBLA".

AW: Days of Ruin is the first Advance Wars sequel that strikes me as substantial, so it might get my vote, but I'm giving it time.

Wow. Last month sucked. I'll have to wait until I rent the Wii games to vote for something that doesn't deserve it.
