The 3DO version was done without the involvement of Chahi, which is why the art departs so much from the original. Pictures are worth a thousand words:

Take a look at the clouds and the moon. The 3DO clouds don't follow the contrail-style approach of the other two. The second moon is also nonexistent in the 3DO version.
Out of this World is one of the most stylish, captivating games ever produced. That remake looks really nice, but if I haven't played it by now, I doubt I ever will.
Looking at more shots of the 3DO version, it's clear they were on a "lol we can cram a lot of details into a bitmap so LETS!" kick, a lot of the minimalist stage compositions are kind of ruined by it.
Might download that remake and give it a playthrough around spring break. Neat stuff. Good call, bVork.
100% worth buying. I actually don't think they game looks as good in hi-res, but there's a low-res mode and the remade backgrounds and various other tweaks make it the definitive version.Quote:

Side note: God, it's less than 2 years old and I mention that the conversion rate makes the game $8. Now I think it's double that.
