Agree there as well. But to the 90% of the world who doesn't watch teenage round eyed kids who say "hmmph" and "oh" and "argh" every 10 minutes, anime is a genre.

Splitting hairs, IMO. "Black and White" is not a genre, but it's definately a catagorization, and it's treated as such for specific reasons, without any value judgement attached past stating the fact of what it is.
