Trading in 1st party GC controllers in for WB's at EB.
not really a "deal" or anything but just wanted you guys to know.
June 11, 2002 - Nintendo's WaveBird controller has shipped to retailers across the US and is now available. The wireless pad, which retails for approximately $34.95, delivers a solid signal at 20 feet or more with a battery life of 100 hours. It could very well be the best thing ever.
Still, at $34.95 each, perfection doesn't come cheap. But retailer EB World (formerly Electronics Boutique) is doing its part to cut the cost of the controller. Gamers can receive $15 off their WaveBird purchase if they bring in one standard Nintendo controller as a trade-in. No third-party manufactured controllers are accepted and there is a two controller per deal limit.
For $40 in total with two controller trade-ins, players can almost buy two WaveBirds for the price of one. We took advantage of the offer earlier this afternoon and couldn't possibly be more satisfied. Penny-saving players would be wise to inquire about doing the same.
More as it develops.
