Psychonauts Chosen as Best Original Game of E3

Microsoft makin' out like a bandit...


Microsoft Games has announced that the Game Critics Awards has chosen their upcoming Xbox adventure title Psychonauts as E3’s Best Original Game. The runner up position went to another Microsoft Xbox title, Blinx: The Time Sweeper.

“Everyone at Double Fine is incredibly excited about winning this award, first because it’s a great honor, and secondly, it means that the Game Critics have finally forgiven us for that time we broke into their clubhouse and stole their mascot goat,” said Tim Schafer, game designer and CEO of Double Fine Productions.

"We're very proud of the richly imaginative world that Tim Schafer and Double Fine Productions have created in Psychonauts," said Ed Fries, vice president of Xbox game content at Microsoft. "Creating games like this keeps these guys off the streets."

I wasn't aware Trent Reznor is doing the Doom III soundtrack...quite fitting. I hope they release the soundtrack separately!

Psychonauts looks killer.

Yes, The premise of the Psyconaughts does sound very unique and original. Hope that the game will be as good, as it sounds :)

The Lost is another game to keep an eye on, if you like dark, bizzare games.
