a moment of silence please.

Dr. Hofmann became an impassioned advocate for the environment and argued that LSD, besides being a valuable tool for psychiatry, could be used to awaken a deeper awareness of mankind’s place in nature and help curb society’s ultimately self-destructive degradation of the natural world.
This guy sounds awesome, RIP :(Quote:
But he was also disturbed by the cavalier use of LSD as a drug for entertainment, arguing that it should be treated in the way that primitive societies treat psychoactive sacred plants, which are ingested with care and spiritual intent.
I wonder if I will see more bicycles out today then I usually do.
also, he does sound awesome... I've never taken LCD but everyone reaps the benefit from those who have and went on to do great things. I like how he said you gotta respect the drug and how he went on to live to 102, thus proving his point.
I saw this when I woke up, sad news. Though I find it surprising he made it to 102 with as much LSD exposure as the man had. Anyone who is semi-interested in the drug should do themselves a favor and read his book, it's pretty damn interesting.
Really TNL? 4 replies?
LSD was awesome....When I was 20
I would be willing to be my left nut that Thief has never even been in the same room as LSD, not sure when he posted here.
In addition, I would call hoffman the scientist, and Leary the father. Let's get real.
Do you know much about Hofman? The man was a seriously cool guy. I know Leary did the acid tests and all but he was just perverting something Hofman really believed in.
I read about albert, other than that I know as much as you do. Props to the guy for fucking up and making a new drug and all, but if it wasn't for Leary and the good old US goverment it would just be another experiment gone wrong.
That's what I mean. I actually know a lot about the history of acid. Hofman had beliefs in the drug being a sacrament and not as some way for kids to 'feel the music'. He wasn't very impressed with what acid came to symbolize.
