I searched for a thread on this, and didn't find one.
I haven't seen it, but it's playing at my local theater and it looks amazing.
Anyone care to comment if they've seen it?
I wasn't exactly a fan of The Cell, but this reminds me of an adult fairytale ala Pans Labyrinth.
And there's nothing wrong with that.
I loved The Cell, although I read he lifted some of his ideas (like the horse slicing machine) straight out of student films.
The previews for this make it look interesting at the least.

The horse slicing thing was based on the work of a particular artist, Damien Hurst. He also sliced up a bunch of different critters, IIRC.
Wasn't a big "Cell" fan, but then again, the subgenre of "literally exploring the mind as a landscape" has never really lit my world on fire (save for Eternal Sunshine).
Visually, I thought it was really interesting.

I *just* saw this mentioned over at HD for Indies, came here to post about it, and saw this thread.
This looks great, and I want to see it badly. Tarsem's stuff has always been great (think REM's Losing my Religion video). That Escher shot near the end of the trailer, with the sets of stairs is unbelievable.

The Cell was great visually, and lacked in other aspects. Still I dug it.
This looks interesting.
