See, I tired that for the first one you encounter and still had to kill it with my gun, with what seemed like an abnormal amount of shots. The cylinder didn't seem to do much damage at all.

Yes, there are a couple sections in this game that will really test your patience....as you will die and have to sit through the loading screen about ten times in a row. Luckily, the rest of the game is so well done that you'll forgive the few sections that seem just plain annoying and unfair.
I'm a few hours in. Unless the game goes downhill or drags in the second half, this is one of the year's best games. I wasn't caring much for the camera at first, i.e being able to rotate around the character instead of standard third-person shooter controls but it works well once you're used to it. Its design feels like RE4 meets SShock2 but with enough of its own style to make it stand out and not seem too derivative. I love the ease of the waypoint system, too.
It doesn't. It is.
Good timing. A Dead Space demo (Zboz/PS3/maybe PC) is going to be released either this week or next.
And yeah, incredible game.
OK I'm going to be the asshole who makes two posts in a row.
The Dead Space demo is up now for 360. It'll be up for PS3 this week, whenever they normally update.
TRY IT, THIS GAME ROX.
I am loving this game. On Chapter 7 and almost everything about this felt great, except for that fucking stupid Asteroid shooting mini-game.
This is $30 at Target on Friday.
