The US completely outplayed Germany. Germany lucked out on a goal kick and nursed their lead the rest of the way through.Quote:

Out of curiosity, how did Canada do this year? ;)
Well, I didnt see, the game, only heard the score :)
Still, US team did great this time around.
In anycase, for those who saw the game between Korea and Spain, Spain ran those gooks into the ground. Overall, Spain had better defense and offense(they had attempted over a dozen shots by overtime), it's just because Korea has an amazing goalie. He's literally carrying the team. Well, I wish them goodluck. They'll fucking need it.
I have no problem with you stating your opinion, but please refrain from using offensive remarks towards any race or gender on these boards.Quote:

soccer is way too messy to be enjoyable.
technically Koreans are gooks, my friend Kwan (im being serious), said the Korean word for a Korean person is indeed Han-Kook (i dunno if thats right - i doubt they spell it with a G)....Quote:

Nope. The word for Korean is Han-guk. The word for a Korean person is Han-guk-saram. The guk prefix is pronounced just as it looks, sounding like duck. :PQuote:

Proudly ranked 79th in the world, with our best player defecting to England. At least we're ahead of Maldives, Easter Island and Disputed Zone.Quote:

As a side note, I think it's kind of interesting that I've known tons of Koreans over the years, and not one of them has ever expressed even the slightest interest in soccer, but the streets of Toronto are now filled with middle aged women (no doubt soccer fanatics all) and young people in Laker jerseys proudly flying the Republic flag.
Ah well, they don't have a chance, but with England, Japan and Senegal out, they're the only team left for me to cheer for. Those penalty kicks against Spain was one of the most awesome sporting moments I've ever seen.
It's due to exposure to the sport more than anything else. North America as a whole doesn't get a lot of football on TV, so you can't really gauge one's interest in the sport very well around these parts.Quote:

Plus.. you know what they say, football is the only acceptable form of Nationalism left in the world. :)
