I read the title as Sleep AIDS. I thought niggas was gettin' AIDS in their sleep.
Xanax owns the shit out of me when I need to sleep.
Also, Nyquil works like a charm for me if I take it 40 mins before bed and don't do anything active. I always take a full capfull.
Pine, go to a shrink, I'm serious. I have a buddy who was the same way as you. He "learned" how to shut his brain off and it's worked ever since (as far as I know, we don't really discuss it to be honest)
Pine, you are aware this is really bad for your long term health right?
Seriously, I made the Stroke thread, when do you think I DON'T do this?
EDIT: forgot to mention that this happened twice before I took my sleep aid and went to bed last night, still nothing.
I haven't taken Nyquil or tussin or anything of the sort in many years, not goin back unless I absolutely have to (has anyone ever been ordered to take it?)
Been to one, not for this, but atm it's not a feasible option. I'd like to go back just to talk to a non-objective party about anything and everything and see if he/she could help with this, but it's just not in the cards right now. I can't pay for it, and my parents are struggling with my dad's hospital bills at the moment.
Have you tried Rozerem? It's not a straight up knock you out drug like other sleep aids. It teaches your brain that "this time of the day is bedtime, shut down please" after a while. It isn't habit forming and it has a really nice success rate given that it's not a normal sleep aid. Once you stop taking the drug, your brain will still slowly shut down for sleep at the same time like it should.
You should really see a professional. Sleep is really important to your health.
Do you have sleep apnea? I do, I only get about 4-6 hours a sleep a night. It sucks. Of course a few beersies help immensely but you can't do that shit everyday. When not drinking I read computer books of sort, gets me tired right. Find something to read that gives a good workout on your mind.
Try some Valerian root. It doesn't work for everyone, but it knocks niggas out when it does work.
It's pretty easy to find, too, in drug stores.

I haven't tried that, but the approach seems interesting. MidNite says it's not habbit forming as well, but I may have been so worked up and nervous last night that I wouldn't let it work. I know that at least at one point I was drifting off to sleep and I jolted myself awake for no reason.
I've thought about this, because both of my grandparents do and I've woken up several times out of breath without having a bad dream or anything, just BOOM can't breathe wake up now. My problem with reading is that I'll get into it enough that I won't stop.
There is a reason I sit on the toilet so much.
Never heard of it, might have to give it a shot.
So far thanks for all the advice, I need to find something that works for me, and you're all pointing me in some good directions.
