Fine I'll elaborate. TNL's brand of humor only really comes off as offensive when it's particularly aimed towards people who can't handle it. Not to mention there is a degree of professionalism that will be held as standard for TNL content. There is a rift between the front end and the back end, and there always had been and I imagine it will still persist.

TNL has always been known as a "hardcore" gaming site. In 2008 that probably doesn't mean the same thing it did in 2002, but the idea is the same: Our audience is better.

I can honestly think of only two serious gaming outlets, the escapist and gamasutra. I really can't see TNL4.0 being like either. I think people should be free to write the way they want to write (as long as it's not a grammar holocaust), and that goes double for podcasts. I really don't think Chris, Nick, or anyone is going to tell people to 'dampen it down' for the sake of traffic or whatever.Quote:
