I'm just an hour or so away from ATL, so I'll be there unless I'm booked up with all sorts of stuff. Weekends are pretty good for me since I'm off every Sunday. I also know my way around the city pretty well.
Too bad I don't work for the Westin anymore, I could of probably got a group discount on hotel rooms. Unless yall are crashing at peoples houses and stuff.
I could probably put up a person or two.
Athens sucks. It's pretty much the poster-child for trendy, white college towns, with its hoard of coffee/sandwich shops + clubs that play jazz or indie music exclusively.
Savannah is OK. Some cool historical architecture and some decent restaurants, but that's about it. Probably not the best place to take a large group.
Atlanta is huge, and has tons of shit going on. I went to the aquarium a long time ago, before it got renovated. It was pretty cool as a kid.
The only reason I ever visit Atlanta, though, is for concerts. The amount of music venues they have is pretty much unmatched in the southern US.
Wtf? The aquarium hasn't been in Atlanta long enough to need to be renovated. It's just now breaking ground for an expansion. It opened up in 2005....you were a lil kid back then?
The world of coke on the other hand moved and got renovated. Underground Atlanta now has all the clubs and stuff.
Before it got... built?
I liked going to the rotating resturaunt and looking at the city. Never ordered a drink up there, but went a few times just for fun. :D
Yea the Sundial restaurant on top of the Westin at peachtree. That is one of the hotels that got messed up during that tornado awhile back. I dunno if it messed up the restaurant or not. I just know they only got half the rooms now. I know the executive sous chef there and my buddy's wife is a front desk manager or something over there too. Thats a pretty lively area with the hard rock cafe and other places all around or in walking distance. I'll be over there tomorrow afternoon at SAE audio school for an ableton clinic. I'll cruise around a bit and see what all damage is still done and what all new stuff is up.
If you promised that you'd bring some desserts, I'd show.
