AWESOME. This film does do a great job of shitting on all the typical comic-book movie cliche's while sticking as close as possible to the source material (unlike WANTED).
The Big Daddy/Hit Girl origin bit they did in 3-dimensional comic book art was pretty cool, and I busted out laughing everytime they referenced the bazooka.
Screw Ebert. He's just mad because he has to eat his dinner through a straw while he wanks it to his favorite foreign coming-of-age flick.

I loved it. Girlfriend liked it but thought it dragged in the middle, which I think I agree with.
It did a really good job of making the characters a lot more likable than the in the comic which helped keep you in it for the long haul.

I was really impressed with Aaron Johnson as Dave. His American accent is perfect, you'd never know he's from the UK. I'm reading he's engaged to a chick who's 43, he's only 20.
I agree with Firstblood...the only real complaint I had was that the movie did drag a little in the middle, although not that badly. And yeah, more Hit-Girl/Big Daddy was needed. Otherwise, the flick was pretty much a home run.
