Your top 3 Sci-Fi Moments
Just a thread to name your top three "Holy shit, that's fucking awesome" moments from any Science Fiction Film, Television show, etc...
My personal top 3:
3.) Return of the Jedi where Luke is trying not to fight Darth Vader and his father starts talking about his sister and that if Luke will not join the darkside then perhaps she will. Luke then screams and lets anger rule him for a few moments and beats on Darth Vader.
2.) Blade Runner, where the final android, "Roy", is on the rooftop along with Deckard after being hunted by him for a good part of the movie and you're expecting things to turn for the worse for the Blade Runner. "Roy" gives his famous "tears in rain" speech and proves that, in death, we have a greater appreciation for life. Little known factoid: Rutger Hauer's speech was improvised and spontaneous. It wasn't scripted.
1.) My personal favorite: Battlestar Galactica Exodus Part II where Admiral Adama's ship is under brutal assault by four cylon baseships. He turns to face his crew and tells them it's been an honor to serve with them and the camera pans out to show the Galactica as it's getting pummeled. Suddenly a shot enters the screen and so does the Pegasus, captained by Adama's son who has blatantly disregarded his father's orders and sacrificed the Pegasus to save the Galactica. Best ever, IMHO - shivers down the spine.
