Comparing 4 to 5, there is a fundamental game system change in that you no longer need to do be able to do defensive techniques at a split second after doing a move that is guarded. This takes away what I believe was VF's trademark gameplay; the forced guesses and reactions to them. While they exist in a lesser form, the game has moved closer to Tekken's design.Quote:

FT takes away the stepping and reduces the damage all around in a n attempt to balance the game further, I liked it (and played it for 6000 matches in the arcade) but missed the fast pace of Evo.
R is closer to Evo than FT since everyone can take off half life or more with 1 combo. The wall combos in general need to be toned down, anyone doing 50-70% combos is ridiculous.
