No he's not. He's a rich aristocrat with a victimization complex.
His only problem, election-wise, is that he is so obviously phony. The only times he sounds like he is speaking from the heart is when he talks about the experience of being rich. Dubya was a rich aristocrat too, but he could fake being a good old boy.

That's because he wanted to be a cowboy since age 9.

Or a professional brush clearer, but his pop told him that they hired people to do that sort of thing.

Honestly, I like Gingrich because he (or someone around him) has built his campaign on being a Wrestling Heel. I can't wait for the Florida debate when he brings a folding chair and starts going after the moderators with it.
Romney will probably do best to sit this out until Newt explodes and runs off the peanut gallery.
-
You know, watching the Florida debate, I have to say I'm impressed by Newt's ability to bullshit so well. It's... frightening how good he is.
Edit: Though, Wolf Blitzer does not pussy-out like John King.

Huh? I can only read the first two lines because I'm not subscribed but it seems pretty obvious to me that they don't want it to look like they're endorsing one of the candidates.
-
That's pretty much it. Thing is, it's an effective ad because it's the truth distilled.
-
God forbid NBC let Romney remind the country of what a sleazy hypocrite Gingrich is. Not that Romney is Mr. Sincerity, but compared to Newt...

You understand that Brokaw is an employee of NBC and a longstanding pillar in their newsroom, right? They don't want him to seem partial. Now they're using their broadcast in an ad to attack a Republican presidential nominee. Whatever he says may be true but don't be dumb enough to think NBC doesn't have something to lose when a pinnacle of television reporting that they've backed for decades is used in a negative ad. He'll be forever marred by it.
