Near Dark - Remember this little horror classic
Well, When someone asked about Bill Paxton 80th horror film, in the other thread, they reminded me about this little horror gem.
Near Dark, is a story of the farm kid, who meet the stange girl and fall in love with her to be bitten by her and dissapear. The Kid goes after her, and find the real truth that she is a part of nomadic vampire family that travel the country roads in search of fresh blood.
It was directed by former James Cameron's wife, Kathryn Bigelow and presented a very good cast:
Adrian Pasdar .... Caleb Colton
Jenny Wright .... Mae
Lance Henriksen .... Jesse
Bill Paxton .... Severen
Jenette Goldstein .... Diamondback
Tim Thomerson .... Loy Colton
Joshua John Miller .... Homer
Aliens veterans Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton and Jenette Goldstein play members of the vampire family, and Henriksen(who is one of my most favorite actors :)) and Paxton deliver great performances. Henriksen is especially cool as the head of this family. I love the scene where he gets shot, and then spits out the bullet :)
It was very stylish, violent and had great music by Tangerine Dream.
A real gem of a film which deserved a lot more credit than it ever received
Here is the trailer for the film:
