Recent beer roundup
Rogue Chipotle Ale - Very interesting. I like the pepper in the finish.
Wells Banana Bread Beer - I liked it a lot but it's mostly good for the novelty. Girls would really like it. Kind of artificial though, and by the end of the bottle I was done.
Avery Brewing, The Beast - This is like a kitchen sink beer. They threw everything in and the result is intense. It has a very heavy sweetness, like molasses with tons of fuit. If anything it's over done. My first reaction was " wow, weird beer". GF thought it was gross, but I was intrigued. 15% alcohol. This beer drinks you.
Mikkeller, Beer Geek Breakfast - This is an oatmeal coffee stout. I thought it was awesome. One of my recent favorites.
The Bruery, Two Turtle Doves - This is a holiday beer made with cocao nibs and roasted pecans. It doesn't have the spice most holiday brews have. If it wasn't labeled a holiday beer I wouldn't have guessed it. This is not a bad thing. It's a really great beer with tons of rich chocolaty flavor. It's nice and thick too. It feels right.
Reaper Ale, Mortality Stout - One of the worst beers I've ever had. Tastes like vomit. Must have been skunked? I've never had a seemingly quality beer go this bad though...
Tried some Southern Tier "Krampus" last night, very tasty! A counter-holiday beer.

third or fourthed on the Golden Monkey
The liquor store just got in their shipment of Ten Fidy. I was so tempted to load up on it, but $13 per 4-pack makes my wallet cry.
Good times my friend
You betcha. One of the many highlights of St. Patty's for sure.
