That's really cool!
Pretty nice donuts, you're really selling the force behind that smash. The only thing that may be a little ambiguous is whether Q-Bee lept out of the way of the attack, or is simply leaping around behind him...maybe kept her wings a bit more detailed, I only realized it was the motion of her wings after noticing an oddly placed blur by the moon. Great perspective and uncommon characters, I'm surprised they didn't choose it...but going by the range in the SF Tribute, who can really say?
You're spot on FuryFox ! I rushed the composition a bit as I didn't want to miss the deadlines - I wanted QBee to fly off, leap out of the way and look back at Huitzil... but I kind of screwed up her pose :(
Maybe my drawing wasn't professional enough or something. That's ok you know, it was fun to enter the contest - I can't wait to see the book now :)Quote:

I personally love your picture.
donuts, you shoulda got in.
TNL full on representing, there's some awesome awesome artwork from everyone here.
Well, the books have been printed and made available at Comic-Con (did you get yours Hero?), plus I've seen plenty of others putting their pieces out there, so I don't think anyone will mind posting my entry here.
I couldn't make Comic-Con, so I have to wait until September or whenever they send them out, but I'm sure I'll find my piece joining a slew of other Talbain + Felicia pics. I didn't want to do a joke pic, or anything particular and story-related, just have the characters ripping at each in the air in extreme poses. I had several backgrounds worked up, tried doing the piece landscape, but in the end I figured I'd just cram as much of the characters as I could in there. It ended up pretty busy, but at least it seems exciting.
Great work, love the upper Talbain's expression, but yeah a bit busy. I think muting the colors of the "background" J.T. and Felicia a bit more would have gone a long way in making it a tad more comprehensible, maybe shoulda tinted their lineart a dark gray to make the foreground fight stand out a bit more.
I went to Anime Expo in LA where they were selling the book but said I had to wait for Comic Con to get my copy (boo!). Since everyone's posting up, here's mine:
