Not really. The first Dead Rising was kind of terrible. That's beside the point anyway. Maybe I will miss out on a great game or two. So what? Most of you know full well how disturbingly scammy companies like Capcom have gotten, but you lack the self-control to withhold money. "It's new! People are talking about it on the Internet! Not buying is not an option!!"

So you pretend everything is fine or join the fanboy defense force with thin justifications for any and all scams. When all else fails it's always, "Er... capitalism! Yeah, that's it! They can do whatever they want!"

How is it not better, or what difference does it even make? You're not being forced to buy it, and if you wanna try it out for free, there is a trial version. It's that simple. If you liked DR and are looking forward to DR2, this is a $5 prequel to DR2 that has tons of replay value and is the only way you can play this. Didn't like DR and don't care about DR2? Don't buy it. It's not like it was the beginning of the game that they chopped off and made paid DLC. It's pretty clear that it is its own, self contained game.

I have to agree with the second part of this sentence.

DLC before or after the game is still DLC and I really don't see the bad part. The fact that it's out before the game is released is actually pretty cool, means you don't have to wait to sink your teeth in.

Yeah, it's like a short prequel that could have been in the full game but serves as an extended stand-alone demo which I don't really have a problem with but I understand why some would.

I'd actually say it's the first good DLC-related thing Capcom has done so far this generation.

It makes sense for them to do it that way, I think until Bioshock, DR Demo was the most dl'd demo ever on the service.

So I guess Capcom is happy with how DR2 turned out.
