The SF fonts are basically the same as the ones from most Capcom CPS2 games. If you check out http://nfggames.com/system/arcade/ar...0Warriors/.png you'll see basically the same thing. I confess that I haven't delved too deeply into it, but unless there's anything unique in the pre-CPS2 stuff you can consider SF already done.
EDIT: Found some good stuff in SF2. Ripping now... Not sure yet if it's different from any other font, but the colours are nice.

EDIT 3: http://nfggames.com/system/arcade/ar...hter%20II/.png
As you'll see in the font notes for SSF2, it's basically the same as most later CPS2 fonts, but without the fancy anti-aliasing or gradients.

I have just released the code for the font engine:
Here's the official release thread. It uses the brand new Creative Commons Zero license.
Please enjoy.

In case anyone's still following this, I've now got over 85 fonts!
Also, a new font selector that shows off all the available fonts.
And, if you want more frequent updates (I hesitate to spam this fine place with daily updates) you can check out the update thread.

A couple of big upgrades to the script today. I worked out a method for listing every font in a row, as well as a counter for tallying up the current font total. And Twystneko put together a word-balloon mod for his shmups scene generator, and it's all available now:

So, the current font count is http://nfggames.com/system/arcade/ar...2/count-1/.png amazing fonteroonies. Here's the list!

New version of the fontmaker page is up!
I'm happy with this new page, it's much more user-friendly, with word-balloon controls, but no more colour mixer. (No one used it anyway). You can still get that on the old version.
As usual, many thanks to Twyst for helping me out with the tricky bits, and 99% of the javascript. And boy, wait till you see HIS new project.
