This was more or less a bug that was encountered when MentholMoose and other West Coast VOOT players were fiddling with the DC disk (as well as trying to reverse engineer the 5.66 demo for DC, hooray for having a copy) and I forget who exactly it was, but someone found a way to get tangram to never open its armor and the only VR to successfully kill him was Bal Bas Bow (IIRC, the Bal form for Tangram).

I wish I could dig up where I saw the video, but it was impressive.

Also, ground Melee attacks are great finishers. Also Cyphers Midair Melee is supreme, I am so sad she takes so much damage or I'd be tempted to make her my main.

Yeah Angelan's VArmor is gay as hell. Why does a mech with light mech speed and health get Raiden/Dordray caliber VArmor and no dash attack delay? She also gets tons of scrubby ass auto homing attacks. Once online play opens up expect to see as many shitty Angelans as there are shitty ass Ike players online in Brawl (if any one still plays that shit online). Although I may exploit her shit and play her when I'm too lazy to play A. Striker. I will also look forward to pissing away match after match to make scrubs mad about how hard it is to hit broke armor Raiden.

So Cypher is a girl VR? Never knew. I hardly know shit about the story of any fighting game I play.

I'm not a high level player by any stretch but I found jump canceling to be much easier on the DC controller. I use it as a way to re-align myself to face the opponent.

That has nothing to do with my gaming setup. I have a Pio in the living room, one in the bedroom, and a CRT HDTV for gaming. The three sets combined (exclusive of calibration costs) cost me less than $6,000.

I know, and I think this changes the feel of the game so much that even if you can play just as effectively, something is lost along the way.

I can dash better in Crazy Taxi with the controller than I can with the shifter in the sit-down unit, but it's a whole different experience.

I always refer the Cypher as female, for the simple fact that the one-time-use attack is called "She's Lost Control" (SLC Dive) and its a magenta/purple mech. Theres other backstory to support its female, but lord knows if the VR fansites still exist.

This is how one should align themselves with their opp, either that or dash attack at appropriate times. Rotating is only good for very long distance alignment.

Online play will be a dream (assuming decent lag etc.) that will probably make me out to be a super advanced noob since all I've ever gotten to do with VOOT is read some articles from real players and learn how to punish the computer (which does a lot of stupid/random shit and never learns). I might finally have to get a 360. Cheap craigslist xbox here I come.

I'd say the same, but I do have a bit of experience playing pretty decent people when I lived in California and SHGL and AI had VOOT machines.

I'm right there with you on the cheapy cheap CL 360's hooray!

Also, as far as being a niche title, I would say yes, thats about correct for the US, but like any game series, as long as people have a way of expressing their love for the series, glitch/exploit/superplay videos will exist.
I'm pretty happy this is coming to XBLA so more people play it, but I'm also a bit afraid of how many people who don't and won't learn how to play will have access to this.
