All the impressions I get say the series did pretty well in its target environment (Japanese arcades), though, so a late cheap home version like this isn't too crazy.
I reckon most Americans didn't "get" VOOM so we didn't get VOOT in the arcades. SEGA didn't even want to release the game over here and we only got it on DC thanks to Activision. I remember Gamefan begging people to buy the game so SEGA might quit its horrible "Only our fellow Japs get our top shelf shit kekekeke" business model.
