No, they were specifically talking about people who were wasted. And you went on mentioning "Well if they're not completely wasted" thus reading comprehension fail.

I don't like the attitude that drinking is treated like a binary decision. If everyone's drinking, have a couple drinks. If you don't want to get hammered, don't. If people are drinking too much and acting like asses, leave. I totally get that you don't want to get smashed all the time, but I don't think I've ever been so dead set that I can't have a drink or two and hang out for a bit.
