I saw the video too..... I was just thinking, maybe the groom is super cheap and got a cubic zirconia ring and just pretend to drop it in the river so now he can say he can't afford another ring. Cynical I am!

He blamed it on the company that made the box. When he opened it, the ring fell out. If it was cubic, I dont think he would scale down, risk getting hit by a car. According to the video, diamonds were unscathed while setting was damaged and had to be replaced.

When I received mine from BlueNile, I opened up my ring box and the ring fell out of its slot. Luckily, I wasnt on a bridge and in a bedroom. Had I done the same thing he did, mine would of probably fell out as well.
