Hey Regus, What's even more lame is that GameFan said about the same thing. Shit like "why did they take away the 3 hit bar from the Jap one"and "The game is too hard" What a bunch of pussies!

Of all people to say something like that.
I wish I could remember the exact issue that reviewed it. I think they reviewed Gunstar Heroes in the same issue and praised it.Quote:

I thought it was the other way around in that Jap games are generally harder as they DO like them hard and americans dont. :)Quote:

I'm with Regus here. Life bars and Conta Don't mix. The reason the Jap version has them is because they don't like their games hard. I would rather not even play a Contra game if it had a life bar. Hey Johnny U, How come you don't have a Genny?
i dunno....i remember when silhouette mirrage came out in the states for the ps1 and how working designs changed a few gameplay elements to make the game harder. i've played bother versions and' the japanese version is kinda easy compared to the american one.Quote:

No, there was a worldwide poll a long time ago (during the 32-bit era, and no, I don't know who they asked or how many people it was), and Japan liked their games easy, Europe was in the middle, and America liked their games hard.Quote:

Rama:That's just Working Designs, they tend to increase difficulty to many of their games.
Konami actually increased the difficulty in Bayou Billy just like they did with Hardcorps. In the American version, the enemies are very cheap, whereas the Japanese version (titled Mad City) is nothing but a cakewalk.
Too bad the game was complete crap on both counts.Quote:
