Caved in from TNL hype and got this:

I ordered my PC stuff from Newegg this morning. I was going i7 but then I figured I really only play games and it might be worth it to wait for the next platform ahead of it.

So, I got a 3.16 GHz C2Duo, an X48 DDR3 based board with built-in wireless networking, 4GB of DDR1600 RAM, a Radeon 4890 and a 500 GB HD with 32MB cache, among other things. I haven't decided which sound card to get, so for now, I'll use the (decent but not super-great) onboard audio.

If I want another video card soon I'll just buy another 4890. But bar Crysis, it'll run everything at 1080p (my monitor's native resolution--not 1920x1200) at everything completely maxxed. I figured Crysis was only one game, and if I have to turn off one setting, so be it. It'll still smoke the shit out of my consoles.

Grabbed a Halo 3 Legendary Edition minus the game for $5 at a yard sale today. I've wanted that helmet since it came out but never wanted to spend $50+ just to get it.
