That's only their collective perspective at the present, though. The usual paths are for one to either get so good at Beatmania they develop arthritis and quit and play other games, or they get their ass kicked so much that they quit out of frustration and play other games.
Maybe someone needs to be there for them to guide them to the light before it comes to that point.
