certain Russian missile types can deploy up to 10 warheads per missile, and the subs which fire them can carry 20 missiles, so 200 warheads. But there aren't many of those subs sailing any more, so that number is iffy, even if they are just counting theoretically.
A lot of the ICBMs are still deployed but the MIRVs (the multi-warhead missiles) should no longer be active because of a previous arms reduction. Still, I believe their ICBM deployment is somewhere around 1,000?Quote:

There are of course other sub classes in the Russian Navy, so 1000 warheads is very realistic, but nearly 3000 is extreme. There is no way they have that many subs deployed, which was Detour's original comment.
