You can bind a key to target the nearest hostile (not the same thing as tabbing) and I believe you can set it up so that you automatically autoattack targets in range.
Some people on GAF have had success with controller setups. It involves using some crazy 3rd person software but some people swear by it. Unfortunately, it makes precise AOE targeting difficult/impossible which is bad news for my elementalist. It would be nice if ArenaNet actually put in official controller support though.
I've been using a Razer Naga for almost a year now. Once you get past the oddity of not being able to use your thumb as a mouse anchor (well, I tend to, anyway) while using abilities it's pretty amazing. I barely even rebind a lot of games anymore since most stuff is defaulted to the number keys anyway.
There's a switch on the bottom to have it use either the number keys or the numpad, in case you want to have the keys above WASD bound to some stuff and the mouse to other things. It gets a little awkward on the bottom row or two so it's really only 2-3 rows of easily accessible buttons (depending on your hand), but I recommend it.
You're an MMO fiend. How does it play with non-MMO's?
I was leaning towards the Logitech but then I realized that I owned a G5 and never liked it much.
Besides the side pad portion it functions like a normal 3-button mouse. Like I said, the pad is for number keys or the numpad so it really depends on if the game you're playing can benefit from all those extra keys. It doesn't do much for most FPS' since weapon amounts are pretty limited these days and a lot of mice have an extra button or two if you want to have healkits or melee mapped to it and RPGs like Dragon Age have actionbars but are also (at least functionally) turn-based so big whoop at hotkeys. I tend to use a controller for most action games anyway. Even for stuff like Planetside I would only have things that don't require aiming since you are pushing on the side of what you're using to aim with, so it's not great for precision things.
MMOs are what it's made for and that's where it excels, for everything else it's just kind of a neat bonus but not really needed.
It's still in the running as long as those buttons are not actually detrimental to the playing of a non-MMO.
I'm using a G300. I like the extra buttons not being crammed onto one area on the mouse, plus its a good gaming mouse for leftys.

I need a wireless mouse.
We have like 5 people in the guild on Maguuma now; you can join guilds cross server, but influence points are server specific so you are only in the guild to chat if you aren't on the same server. Also, server transfers are free for a short time (idk how much longer), so if you want in and rolled cross server, you can just move over.
^ Are the five people TNL'ers? I'd move if that is where y'all are going.
I am not OMG IN LOVE with this game, but when I am not playing it I am thinking about playing it.
It's been a long time since I've felt that way. Feels good.
