Yeah, I'm not supporting any portable game that is over $5-7. I won't even buy iPhone games at $10.

You are ruining videogames, Yoshi. Soon everything will be iPad Peggle. With DLC packs. And avatar clothing.

The iPad will be a catastrophic failure, so I don't think we're in too much danger of that.

You'll say you will never own one, then buy two. ;)

Sonic CD had all kinds of psychedelic colour shit going on. So did Knuckles Chaotix if that counts. Those games looked awesome. I think Sonic was as bright as Mario.

Chaotix definitely, but Sonic CD wasn't that saturated. Although the bonus levels were.

Sonic 1 vs Mario 3 = holy shit Sonic is brightly colored and insane, whereas Mario is very drab looking by comparison.

I don't think it's the amount of color or the brightness that is wrong. I think it's the contrast. The trees and vegetation in the original Sonic games had jarring sharp edges with drastic dark shadows and bright highlights. This new game is much softer on the edges and much more gradual on the shadow/light transition.
