I'm getting close to completing my initial target list of horizontal shooters and am ready for some recommendations on what I am still missing and shouldn't be.

Don't be a smartass and mention the bad GBA games in several classic series, but I am interested in any post-16-bit, CD-based games. Basically I have seven consoles hooked up (DC, NG, PS2, PS3, SS, 360, and Wii), and that is enough.

As a general rule, my theme preferences would be space > military > cute, but try me. I know I have no Fantasy Zone, Parodius, or Cotton games for example.

I a strange coincidence, I pulled out the Saturn for the first time in over a year and played some Sexy Paradious just last night.

You should too. I'm pretty sure it also came out for PS.

It was awesome. Beats the pants off Gradius in both difficulty and play mechanics.

Cotton 2 is actually pretty cool.

What's your stance on Einhander?

I wish there were a Parodius Collection for a console. :cry: Konami just doesn't get compilations.

Oops. I have Einhander. I just forgot it.

Sexy Parodius is all kinds of awesome, don't know why you'd skip that one.

As for non-cute post-16bit hori's, I remember people saying good things about Metal Black but I've never played it myself.

I've had it a couple times. It just wasn't high on the priorities. The fact that I have to get the Parodius games separately or on PSP doesn't help.

That's another oversight. It's on the same collection as the Darius games.
