New Super Mario Bros. - Wii

I'm not sure how I feel about this one to be honest. I loved NSMB on the DS. It was a good addition to classic Mario with a GREAT 2 player vs. mode that is endless fun if you have someone else with really sharp Mario skills. I just can't tell if this looks like it will be that good or not. I'll get it either way because my 10 year old little girl LOVED the DS game and will surely love being able to play co-op on this one. I don't have a choice. :lol:

I'm still dying to try this (esp. since I have no PS3 and therefore no Uncharted 2 to distract me).

PLUS what the hell are the alternatives in the current-gen platforming department? If we want to be apples-to-apples on this, the only other plat release I've seen this year is A Boy and His Blob. So its not like NSMB needs to be OMFG brillant in a starving genre - just good, fun, get the job done.

I liked DS NSMB. It was not Mario 3. So?

I am curious why they are releasing a DS game on a console (CLEVER JOKE FOLLOWS HO HO HO). I'll still give it a shot.

yeah, but from my view there are legions of people fine with sameyness across the whole spectrum of genres, developers, systems, publishers, et al. Just as there's always someone out there willing to defend their brand of sameyness to the death while decrying all others. Its just a matter of what flavor of motonony.

Um, if there's any company which has a legion of folks who defend its products for its sameyness, it's Nintendo.

People who like things sure do defend the things they like.
