I'm working on a short film and want to use a certain stock scream effect I remember, but I can't place where the hell it comes from originally. I thought it was the scream used when the Doomguy gets killed, but after firing up Doom I realized this isn't the case (unless it's from a different Doom port?). It's also not a version of the Wilhelm scream, as far as I know.
Anyway, I finally remembered one place I knew for sure I had heard it- mixed into the BGM of the What The Heck? level of the original Earthworm Jim. So, I have the video below for you guys to listen to. Maybe one of you nice people can shed some light on what exactly this scream is and where it comes from.
It first appears in the video at exactly 0:41 and pops up regularly throughout the rest of the song afterwards. Thanks.

No. Did you even bother listening to the video I posted first?

If he had provided a scream that sounded even remotely like the one I posted I would have been a real sweetheart to him. That goes to anyone kind enough to help me find this fucking thing.

Closer, but no. I actually found that one myself in my search. But I really do appreciate your trying to help.
I don't mean a scream that sounds kind of like the one in the EWJ vid...I'm talking about that exact, precise scream. I just want to know where it comes from so I can track down a good quality sample. I know I've heard it before in a few different places- I believe it's also used in Clerks. There's a scene where Randall is watching TV and you hear these sci-fi noises folllowed by that scream right before he turns the set off.

nah, i know what you meant. the thing is, i've been itching to find the origin of that sound sample since you brought it up. It's a scream I've heard before, but then again, it might've been from me playing EWJ as a kid.
dude, this thing was bothering me so much that went through 3 external harddrives to see if it was in one of my sound effects collection, sadly none of which matched.
:38 and :41 have to have come from the same film/game/whatever.
only reason i posted up the doom clip is because if u changed the pitch of that scream, i think you would come very close to the sound u want. I thought there might be a small chance that they changed the pitch of the scream for the bgm...but then you said you heard the exact scream from Clerks so I dunno.

No, I remember playing EWJ and realizing the scream was something I'd heard before.

Yeah, I've really been tearing my hair out trying to find this thing, too. I suppose I could use some other scream or record my own, but I'm fixated on that one now.

I've been trying to find that clip of Clerks online to confirm but so far I'm not having much luck with that, either. I'll borrow my friend's DVD later and let you know. Hell, if it's a clean enough sample I'll just record it from there. But I'd still like to know where it's from.
