Philosophizing about Random Numbers
Take this number: 159265
Looks pretty random. But it is the 3rd through 8th decimal place of pi. So it's not random at all.
So my question is: If pi is non-repeating and infinite (it is) does that mean it contains every possible combination of numbers? Like, is my telephone number somewhere in pi? Is my social security number somewhere in pi? Is the script to Pulp Fiction somewhere in pi through a straight letter to number substitution scheme?
If so, no number can be random. It would be part of pi. Discuss.
