It is pretty racist that you think everyone from that area of the world is Muslim and that the two go hand in hand. Muslim in not a race. It is just a religion that SOME people believe in.
The word you are looking for is "bigot." You fuckshit.

I just have no idea what the term is for prejudice based on religion. I could have just said bigot I suppose, but welcome to 5 posts ago.

Seems like a waste of energy to hate that many people.
Join me in hating only Hideki Matsui.
Ok then, I'll say it.
Hassan's cousin was interviewed on the day of the shootings. He said the guy was always the nicest, quietest guy he knew, was being harassed because of his religion and his reluctance to go to Iraq. Hassan even asked to be discharged, saying he'd gladly pay for whatever remaining time he had left. Sounds reasonable enough.
Now stories are trickling in about his connections not to just his Muslim faith but extremist sects, and viewpoints he "supposedly" spouted off in front of peers and superiors that made them worry. Apparently not enough before he went and shot 13 dead.
So the news trusses it up two ways - either he's some whack job Muslim extremist who at best acted alone and at worse had "connections" with some evil bad men out there. OR he was a victim of an oppressive Army who wouldn't let him leave when he was being harassed & uncomfortable with the prospect of going to Iraq. In either instance it has nothing to do with researching and digging up the news - it's just regurgitating the tidbits that best fit whatever slant they're ready to serve up.
Much like how in Columbine, people wanted to blame someone. So depending or the predetermined message they had in mind, it was 1) videogames 2) the oppressive mainstream jocks 3) lack of parental supervision, and so on.
To me, it's akin to same core cause - there is something downright WRONG with someone if they think going out and blowing away a bunch of unassuming people is their solution to some perceived grievance. The moment you try to blame their actions on something external is the moment you excuse their actions. For Hassan, it doesn't make sense that someone who supposedly took issue with the killing of other Muslims and was a peace-loving sort had no problem shooting at his fellow soldiers. And no matter how you slice it - be it "OMG MUSLIMS ARE THE DEVIL" or "OMG THE ARMY HATES MUSLIMS" all you do is excuse Hassan from owning the responsibility to his actions.
From teh wikis:
A religion is a system of human thought which usually includes a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices that give meaning to the practitioner's experiences of life through reference to a higher power, deity or deities, or ultimate truth.
"through reference to an ultimate truth"
We don't have an ultimate truth yet. Atheists say that God did not make the universe because there is no God. Sounds like giving meaning to their life experience through an ultimate truth to me. Their beliefs are founded on just as much faith as any other religion. There is no proof of no God. There probably never will be. The "big bang" origin of the universe has questions big enough to drive a galaxy through. If you truly believe all of this happened with no God, you are overcoming the largest questions imaginable with faith.
Agnostic or bust imo.
(Specifically, Deism)
