What is your favorite simple machine.

Mine's the pulley. I was thinking ramp, but then what is a ramp but an oversized wedge. The Lever isn't much good without the fulcrum, and doubly so for the fulcrum. One could argue that the wheel is superior to the pulley, but I wouldn't.

Here's another question: How would you prepare reindeer? What would you have with it? Side dish and beverage, mainly, desert or second side optional.

I'm going to assume grilled would have to be best, but pan-seared could also be nice. I'd definetly have it with garlic mashed potatoes and a strong and roasty Belgian quadrupel ale or maybe a Spanish Grenache Tempranillo blend.
