This game looks epic. Can't wait to get my hands on it over Steam!
Customer creation + reward XP system + Mirror's Edge-style parkour + classes + real-world objective + good looking action = day one?
This looks like a way better Borderlands.

I hope steam release a multipack like they did with borderlands / l4d. I'm all over this game.
Went to the Quakecon presentation last month, and also got to play the demo maps at the vendor area. It really does look awesome for those of us who have been waiting for a good team based objective FPS.
This is 'the next level' lol of real progression from RTCW > Enemy Territory > (then maybe Quake Wars, but meh) > Brink
Brink is not really comparable to Borderlands as that is more of a RPG heavy, loot hunting system.
The core is built on true Wolfenstein gameplay (Splash Damage's roots) with added customization and improvements. The parkour type style is nice, and the AI is really well done. The character models are kinda wonky, but thats forgivable.
Definitely my most anticipated game of the next year.
I actually like the caricaturized style of the game. The faces and art has personality - and colour! Something most FPS games seem to forego in favour of brown and grey.
Artistically this is a more endearing looking game than any new property since GoW.
It's the first game since Gears, for me at least, that the more I see of the world and the characters the LESS bored I become of them. It's like it's growing on me, but it started with high regard to begin with.
I checked out ETQW from work today. Been at last 5 years since I played it or Wolf:ET. Needless to say, nobody is playing this online for the 360, but it was still kind of fun to play around with the AI. I was thinking I wasn't going to be getting any new games for a while in 2011, but I love the ET game style, objectives, and classes.
This is the only FPS I'm looking forward to right now.
I have no doubt that it will be good, because Splash Damage hasn't made a bad game yet, but I wonder if online will die off quickly on the 360 like it did with Quake Wars.
I got a lot of mileage out of PC Quake Wars, but I don't play PC games anymore, so that version is out of the question.
Bad Company 2 is still going strong, so as long as people get it to begin with and they can hold interest with DLC, I see no reason why not. It will be interesting to see how this holds up with BC2. When Wolf:ET and ETQW came out, BF just had the conquest mode. Now with rush as an amazing objective mode and great maps and tons of added maps since release, it might be hard for this game to hold its own. I hope at the very least it is as good as BC2.
lol @ anyone liking these character designs.
