Buyingt at newt mattressiot

I shopped around. LoL at in town prices. Sertas were between 700 and 1100. 700 being a firm.

And holy shit Temper Pedics feel good. It is like some odd combination of firm and fluff.

I ended up going to Tupelo and getting a Serta at sams. I know, I know, evil walmart. But it was made in MS so I'm at least supporting local people. And it was 400/500 cheaper than where I live.

I didn't get the box frame though. They wanted 110 for that.

Is there anything wrong with getting some boards cut at Lowes and putting a sheet of particle/chip board over that?

There's nothing wrong with it. The thing about Boxsprings are they add extra support to the mattress, but not to you.

The boxspring are for the Mattress ... Not for your benefit. I used to sell them. Salesmen are told to tell the customer that they add extra comfort for you ... from the companies. The real facts are, boxsprings are for the extending the life of the mattress. Whether you have a boxspring or not most Mattresses have a lifespan of 6-8 years. If you have a boxspring take the later timeframe.

Temper Pedic mattresses don't need boxsprings.

the boxspring

My gf and I moved into a townhouse this past November. The previous owner (friend of the family) left a brand new queen sized bed in the Master bedroom because it was too heavy to move. BECAUSE IT IS A CRAFTMATIC ADJUSTABLE BED. I'm gaining 100lbs fuck everyone.

I'm currently in the market for a new mattress. Didn't expect it to be so complicated.

I've done a bunch of research and am currently wavering between latex and memory foam. I'm gonna test some out tomorrow, but does anyone have a strong recommendation for one over the other? Price isn't a significant factor but I don't like paying a huge mark-up for namebrand (so Tempurpedic is out).
