I am wondering if there are any shops in Boston/China Town that have import games and mod systems.
The only place I knew besides Tokyo "they suck" Kid was Anime Crash but they no longer exist.
If any one knows let post away and save me the trip to NY.
You guys had an anime crash in Boston? The one here in Rhode Island was an anime store that sold import games on the second floor in the beginning, but they stopped for reasons unknown. Too bad they're closed.
don't know of any such places.
A) There is really not a lot in the way of import shops in Boston proper.
B) When I eventually do own a shop/arcade, it'll probably be in Boston.
C) Anime Crash sucked. They were price-fixing jerks and their store was horrible. They gouged their customers because they assumed people walking in had no idea what things cost. Good riddance.
PS: I know people who used to work for them, so I know what the markup was on a lot of things. Bad people.
PPS: Tokyo kid used to be a good place for Saturn magazines, but thats it. DO they still have the Dragon Ball arcade cabinet?
As far as I know, and believe me I have looked thoroughly, there isn't a good import store in Boston, or inside the 128 loop.
It's kind of sad, as I do think a store like that could thrive here.
Tokyo Kid went from being a hong kong kung-fu movie shop that sold a lot of games, to a Anime movie shop that only has 4 games in stock. They had a copy of FFX import around the time of FFX US launch that they wanted $120.00 for.
I did pick up some pretty cool SNK posters there though.
The gaming scene in Boston is pretty sad. I'd spend top dollar if there was a decent import store, but there isn't one to be found. Youd figure there would be money to be had with such a store, considering the people to game store ratio.(1 million to zero?)
My college career won't end soon enough. I can't wait to get the gaming scene going in Boston. Only time will tell what I'll be going up against when I finally start a shop...Quote:

Anime crash was ok their prices were sky high though. The last thing I bought from them was MVC2 sealed($80) and a Blue Dreamcast lid ($30)plus my system modded for about $125 total. I paid that much because I get it right then and there, I just pretended I paid a little for speedy shipping.
They always did act as though they were high and mighty too. Selling opened games. I remeber them selling House of The Dead for Like $85, that's crazy.
Though the one in Thayer in Providence was smaller but they were a hell of alot nicer and slightly easier on the prices. I got Panzer Dragoon Azel from them for $65.
As for Tokyo Kid they don't concentrate on gaming, they are mainly about Anime. Last time I was there I saw Only 3 Games Lupin & Samuri Shodown 3 for the Saturn and some other PS game. BTW they have a Mega Man Cabinet now.
the reason I asked is because I want to mod my Saturn and hopefully pick up a Dou soon.
What ever happened to the Arcade on Downtown Crossing? They used to have the lastest Fighting games. I used to go to get my ass handed to me by them Asian kids. Now it's full shady type.
When september rolls around im gonna spend some time there, seeing as how its 3 minutes from where i live, and they have KOF2k. from what i've seen, there are some decent players. its far from a great arcade though. I think i remember them having tekken 4, which is the latest. Hopefully they'll get soul calibur 2.Quote:

Oh my god some of you have been to providence. x2y what other parts of providence have you been to? Someday I'm going to meet some of you. Its funny that Kabuki lives in Rhode Island yet I still haven't seen him.
