I love the TR series and I don't mind a total reinvention of the series. I guess this will be more open world which is fine by me. I don't care if its via download only since I assume this'll be on pc which means possible steam download. I'll keep an eye on this.
I liked Anniversary a lot! One of the better PC ports around too.
What happened to TR that it needed another "reboot"? I was under the impression that the recent games were good.
I've always loved the TR games and to see it return to form like it did with Underworld was fantastic. I'm hopeful for this, though being download only makes you wonder how much of a game will actually be there.
If I'm not mistaken TR:U didn't perform as well as expected. There was talk shortly after that about doing a reboot. It sucks if you ask me. TR:U is my favorite one besides the original.
Fear of history repeating itself with the franchise?
I loved Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld but I don't mind them trying something new to keep it fresh. I doubt the next game will be that much different, though. TRU was hyped to be more ambitious in design with multiple solutions/paths through levels but it didn't really seem any different than the past games in that regard.
odd that there is no Tomb Raider in the title
With all the talk of defying expectations, being an original experience, and the fact they left "Tomb Raider" out of the title, I'm guessing this is a spinoff with an entirely different gameplay formula from the traditional TR games. What that will be is anybody's guess, though.
