The 3000's screen is definitely better. Brighter colors and far less screen blurring which I never noticed originally, but going back is rough.

I'm bringing this thread back because there are a lot of PSP games that are too old almost for official threads that I just got around to playing.

Half Minute Hero was SO good. It has a great translation and the gameplay is so bite-sized and portable friendly.

I decided to get Ys 1 and 2 Chronicle special edition but saw that it was like $100 on eBay and Amazon. Checked the local GameStops and quite a few still have one in stock for $20 new. You guys should check out places near you and see. I also bought the last Ys 7 special edition they had. They even alsoer had What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord? part 2 for $10 new, so what the hell. It was a sweet PSP haul.

I really wish someone would bring over Half Minute Hero 2. It's even better than the first game.

I've been holding out for those Ys SE's to get super cheap but I may have missed the boat, my local stores don't have jack now.

I've been playing mine a lot lately too. Mostly RPGs, but I've been mixing it up with the Capcom collections that I got off of psn. It's like having a good CPS emulator on the handheld without the stink of piracy! I'd probably have never played the UMD but it's nice to take a break from a long RPG and play SF2 or Final Fight without swapping discs.

Yeah, it's int he style of 16 bit games and includes a big ass overworld map that you actually move around and then enter sections that start the time limit. It's a lot of fun and quite hilarious. I actually got it just before I left Japan and played the shit out of it on the flight back.

Ffffff- that needs to come out here so bad! SO BAD. PSN at least =[

Is it gaijin friendly? I'd imagine it can't be too difficult to import.

I'm not buying a game in a language I don't understand that the company doesn't want me to buy.

At best I would steal something like that.

I'm loving the PSP right now. I have all the Ys games and even bought 1/2 Chronical digitally when it was on sale for $15 so I don't have to open my real one (and can play it on Vita when that rolls out.)
Gamestop (as much as I hate them) has been really great since they seem to be ditching their inventory. Not long ago I got Third Birthday, Lord of Arcana, and Tactics Ogre for $10 a pop (and ungutted) and now they have Persona 2 for $19.99 new.
I was in one the other night and picked up a used but mint copy of Field Commander for 3 fucking dollars. It's not as good as Advance Wars, but it isn't half bad. I've also seen things like Valkyrie Profile Lenneth for $10.
Now is definitely the time to go after this stuff.

I'd say no, it's really not remotely close to import friendly. Half of what makes the games great is the charm of the writing that makes it entertaining, and there's a lot of times when there's like little quests and such you have to do that you would have no idea how to find it and do it without following a faq the whole time, which wouldn't be much fun.
