I keep seeing things like this thrown around, but digital rereleases don't affect resale value of the originals that much in my experience. I've checked the value of a few of my older and more valuable games some time after they hit VC or XBLA and they haven't really fluctuated much at all.

If you think about it, the people who just want to play these games have had free emulation as an option at their disposal for years, so it doesn't really make sense that a pay-for emulation service would cut into the value of these games any more than the illegal means already have. People who pay high prices for the carts are usually collectors who want the physical media.
