I played this at NYCC. Tried Viewtiful Joe, Chris, and Dormammu. I sucked big time, but the game is fast, flashy, and fun. I wish we could play the NYCC demo at our homes to tide us over until whenever it comes out.
I can see why you guys are so against MvC2. I'm watching this weekend's Seasons Beatings tournament and I can't even do half the shit that people are still doing. Damn you, shitty 360 controller!
Who's against MvC2?
I think everyone's against the idea the MvC3 needs to play just like its predecessor.
I don't get why sticks have anything to do with it. And people want a vs game to plays as a vs game.
Well, there's the hard-core "knows every engine exploit" crowd, then there's the people who just wanna play Superheroes vs Videjagamesmen, and the latter crowd is a LOT bigger.
A "versus" game means different things to different people. The audience for this thing is more than half people who are just interested in the characters and have a passing interest in fighting games.
(that said, they ought to just go ahead and build the thing with as much crazy high-level shit as possible for the long term survival of the game, but keep that stuff well below the surface.)
Just like the prior Versus games!
It kinda looks like Capcom is shooting itself in the foot mainly through assists. Doom rocks and MODOK aegis shield are brutal. With the neutering of AAAs it looks like zoning teams will win out so far. I still think the game needs to make assists more central to this game.
