This is a hell of a lot more interesting to me than Sam & Max, Wallace & Gromit, or Strong Bad. I was a fan of the Sega CD adventure game even, and Telltale should easily do better than that.

I'll have no choice but to play it! My interest in their other games is next to nil (Sam and Max is unplayable due to the presentation :( ), hopefully they'll step up their game.
If this is Mii's running through cartoonland JP, I will be saddened.
They're also making a Back to the Future game, for god's sake.
I'm interested I guess but I was hoping for Telltale to finally grow up and start making some new IPs. What don't you like about it?
Tales of Monkey Island is still the only series of theirs that I really like. The newest Sam and Max stuff is definitely better than the previous two seasons but something about it puts me on edge. Lousy acting and annoying characters, mostly.
S&M: It looks sooooo terrible and everything is completely stiff and dead. The look of the thing kills the jokes, partially due to bad direction. Way awkward camera cuts during dialog.
Then you're missing out.
Clearly!
"It's not funny" is the other thing. Doesn't hold a candle to the LucasArts game. :(
Agreed. Lots of people think this is a crazy opinion, BTW.
I get the feeling that these people are so excited to see new adventure games that they ignore the fact that the writing just isn't there.
I haven't truly enjoyed a single Telltale game yet. It just feels flat compared to the old school games, and it's not complete nostalgia since I played the older Monkey Islands recently.
