Email him one more time explaining your side of the argument and ask that he be a little more civil or you are going to stop trying to work this out, await for his inevitable swear word filled reply. Save all that stuff for later.

I think the most fair thing you can do (maybe last straw to keep this fucker on the level) is to split the shipping cost if he will ship the system back to you. He should eat his part of shipping.

Why don't you just ignore him and buy a shotgun? Those are easier to purchase than handguns and still get the same message across.
