Screen shots were also released today, which looks pretty good, although not much different than the original.

Personally I'm not complaining, as the original still looks great. Here's hoping the same charm is retained for the remastered soundtrack.

Not much different? Good. Upscale it, add achievements, and make it 5.1 and I'll be happy.

I've got a raging semi right now.

Didn't care much about the original (it played worse than the worst 3D Zelda, IMO), but a lot of the design was nice.

Only if gameplay is exclusively in the combat controls. The world was much better designed from a gameplay perspective. Dense and full of shit to do. 3D Zeldas always had pacing problems that BG&E didn't. You might be missing the forest for the trees.

What can I say, it didn't give me wood.

Even messing around with picture-taking and shufflepuck or whatever a decent amount, I beat the game in about 8 hours. The side stuff seemed dense because the main quest is short as fuck; way too brief for a Zelda-like.

The length was acceptable for the $10 I paid for it and will probably be good for a $15 HD remake, granted. But if I'd bought it as the $50 product they initially sold it as, I would not have been happy.

The length was fine. It just wasn't a terribly compelling experience in the end. Not sure why the cult following is so rabid.

There's a difference between cutting the fat and making it feel like half the game is missing. BG&E seemed more like the latter to me.
