Got one of these bad boys in the mail yesterday.
Went through some of my old Game Boy games:
Mega Man - Starts out real easy with Elecman. Cutman gets a bit harder. Then holy shit Iceman and Fireman stages are ridiculously difficult. So many death traps and punk ass enemies. No wonder I never beat this one. Great soundtrack, at least. I think this is the hardest Mega Man game I have played and I have played all the NES/SNES ones.
Battletoads - Another great soundtrack in an obscenely difficult game. Would be much easier to beat this one were it not for all the instant-kill death traps in later levels and the punk ass bosses that can kill you in 2 hits.
Metroid II - Looks awesome in color! Sounds great in stereo! Too bad the backgrounds are a lot more repetitive than I remember. It's easy to get lost because areas look the same and there is no world map.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III - More like Teenage Mutant Metroid Turtles! You start out as Michelangelo, going through a huge factory/castle/cave rescuing the other three Turtles, who all have unique abilities that you need to access certain spots on the map. Much easier than Metroid because a world map is included!
Super Mario Land - Short and easy. The real challenge comes in the second loop after you beat the game once. A bizarre final level against some weird airship.
Metal Gear Solid - Was pumped to replay this one but found out it is only for Game Boy Color! Boo!
More to come.
