Here's another new music game from Konami... no, it's not what you're thinking. Forget about DDR, GF, and DM for now. What could it be?
Reflec Beat is a new touch-screen rhythm game. Balls bounce around the screen to the tempo of the music and you touch the screen to eliminate them as they hit the bottom line. If a ball has a tracer effect, you hold on it similar to a DDR Freeze.
It wouldn't surprise me if Konami has already started working on a 3DS version.
Looks pretty lame compared to Jubeat.
Jew-Beat Plus is on iPad. Or is that the one coming? Well whatever. If Konami deigns it to be worth their time to indulge non-Japanese-arcade-people to give them money for the right to play this game, it'll be for iPad if anything at all.
Meanwhile I guess it can be considered a demotion for Yoshitaka to be kicked off of IIDX to take over this.
While on the subject of new and obscure Japanese rhythm games, I don't think anyone's mentioned Mozarc here.

What's interesting is that it doesn't use a touch screen. Those are actual physical keys on the bottom of the screen which are formed as to look as if it's part of the screen. They supposedly break rather easily too! Hooray!
Without the scratching, it just seems like it'd be Beatmania except easier.
