Consider that the people making the game and the whole country is at least emotionally affected by what happened, and consider that the game will probably sell more if they wait to sell it after things settle down. Also consider that the development offices and distribution have been affected by blackouts. It goes way beyond angry parents. You're applying your average suburban mom reasoning to a totally different situation.

It's not about earthquake victims getting angry, that is ridiculous. It's about an act showing them sensitivity. It's something human's do, it's not that hard to understand. If someone you know's father dies and you hang out with them the next day, you don't spend the whole time telling him how awesome and alive your dad is. It shouldn't need explaining.
